Enjoy the fourth Reconnection celebration of the Topeka area early black settlements of Tennessee Town, Redmondsville, Mudtown, and the Ritchie Communities in Shawnee and Wabaunsee Counties.
Co-sponsored by the Kansas Humanities Council, the Kansas Historical Society, Washburn University, the Shawnee County Historical Society, Brown v. Board National Park Site, and the Prairie Heritage Institute, Inc.
Dr. Thomas Cox, Thursday's luncheon keynote speaker, will address the social and intellectual history of the American and African American experience with an emphasis on Topeka blacks.
Lectures, seminars, and workshops will be followed by discussion sessions in which attendees will be encouraged to participate.
Pre-registration and payment are required for the keynote luncheon and the bus tour . The deadline is April 15. There is no registration deadline for the lectures, seminars, and workshops, which are free.
